Problem Vegetation Clearance Works

Longborough Developments are proposing to build new facilities on a plot of brownfield land in Bideford. Due to the ecological constraints on site, Blackdown Environmental were approached to carry out the sensitive clearance of the site, in advance of the nesting bird season and to facilitate reptile trapping and translocation works in the following year.

Project Overview

Working for our client, our team at Blackdown Environmental helped to facilitate a proposed residential development in Bideford, Devon.

The Solution

Our team at Blackdown Environmental provided the following works;

  • Mechanically mulched up to 3.44ha of vegetation using a tractor mounted mulcher.
  • Cleared roadside vegetation and embankments using an excavator mounted flail mower.
  • Cleared 200m2 of steep banks using a remote controlled flail mower.
  • Sensitively cleared around large trees and around existing services.

“We used Blackdown Environmental for the first time on our site at Bideford, following a recommendation from a colleague. They have provided a first rate service, with all of the works being undertaken to a high standard. They provided help and ecological advice along the way, I would not hesitate to use them again.”
