Overview

To work on an RAF airfield limiting the risk to life and property from the hazards associated with bird and animal strikes on aircraft.

An exciting opportunity to join NBC Environment as an Airfield Wildlife Control operative at RAF Wittering. You will have a keen interest in Ornithology or wildlife management and a passion for working outdoors. Experience a preference however full training can be given if required.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible with the Regional manager and Team Leader for the performance of the unit not just financially but in relation to quality and safety.  Ensure work is carried out safely and in a way that prevents our operations impeding the clients own operations.

Work Requirements:

You must be able to be flexible in working a rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday in line with the business needs along with occasional weekend work.

The successful applicant must possess or have the ability to possess a firearms and shotgun certificate, pass a colour perception test, pass all MOD security checks and be fit and able.

Overwiew

Blackdown Environmental is seeking subcontracted seasonal bat surveyors to assist in a range of bat surveys throughout the South West.

Each year Blackdown Environmental work with a team of skilled bat surveyors to help deliver our busy survey schedule carrying out bat emergence and activity surveys.

If you have an interest in ecology and are looking to gain experience in this field of work, we’d love to hear from you.

Candidates will have good observation and recording skills and be able to work to a set methodology to a high standard.  Full training will be provided.

The Role:

• Preparation and submissions of proposals
• Evaluation and analysis of tender inquiry
• Liaise with Consultants, Contract Managers, Clients and Subcontractors ensuring specifications, volumes, issues and risks are identified and agreed
• Detailed site visits to determine and mitigate risk to the business for tender submission
• Generate and submit documentation for tender approval
• Presentation of tender proposals to clients and management team
• Building and maintaining effective and compelling business relationships, both externally and internally
• Using analytical methods for rate build ups using estimating software

 

Desirable Requirements:

• Proven background within Estimating with desirable experience of Groundworks or landscaping

Working hours – 5 days per week (Monday to Friday). Some weekend or out of hours work may be required. TOIL may be available.

  • Large scale aquatic, shrub and tree planting

  • Use/direction of plant and machinery

The Role
