Reporting to: Regional Manager

To work on an RAF airfield limiting the risk to life and property from the hazards associated with bird and animal strikes on aircraft.

Objectives:
  • To make the airfield as inhospitable as possible to birds and mammals using the tactics and equipment available to you.
  • To conduct these activities within the licensing made available to you which may be site specific.
  • Deliver effective bird and wildlife control in accordance to the specification sold or liase with Management to present alternatives that will ensure the client achieves their own objectives.
  • Complete Geo pal every 30 minutes to record your observations. Log in and out on each shift.
  • To maintain nil bird strikes ON airfield each month.
  • Complete operations safely with zero H & S or environmental Incidents.
Duties:
  • To patrol the airfield in the provided vehicle and to scare birds away from the active surfaces and airspace. This is your primary task.
  • Observe fully the clients’ restrictions on site relating to movement around the airfield.
  • Correct use of radio communications with the ATC or other airfield users.
  • Familiarise yourself fully with the site and key locations.
  • Notify line manager or head office of any issues which fall outside your primary task such as injured animals or nesting birds issues in hangars away from the airfield but still on site.
  • Be aware of the avian and mammalian issues affecting your airfield and to communicate these to the client if required so that you can carry out the required control methods or, to allow the customer to modify their activity while the risks or hazards identified are present.
  • To use the Geo Pal device to report at least every 30 minutes your observations from the airfield and to monitor and record bird species and numbers.
  • To record the use of equipment and its effect and to request replenishment of ammunition in good time so as not to effect operations.
  • Conduct DNA tests or where possible remains removal on aircraft that have experienced bird strikes and to send these to the chosen Laboratory for DNA testing. You will conduct these under supervision of the RAF personnel in charge of handling the aircraft due to the sensitive nature of the equipment.
  • To be FOD (foreign object debris) aware while airside to limit risk to aircraft and life by yours and/or other airfield users activities which may generate FOD. To complete the relevant forms and hand FOD and forms into the RAF or other nominated contractor that may handle FOD for your particular station.
  • To conduct FOD checks if required by the RAF.
  • To familiarise yourself with the types of aircraft that will be using the airfield and how their flight characteristics will require you to tailor the control methods you will use.
  • Assist in the movement of RAF personnel around the airfield when required.
Responsibilities:

You will be responsible with the Regional manager and team leader for the performance of the unit not just financially but in relation to quality and safety.  Ensure work is carried out safely and in a way that prevents our operations impeding the clients own operations.

  • Liaise as required each shift with the client to ascertain operating hours and any other restrictions or safety information that is required for your shift.
  • Look after company equipment and vehicles and ensure when used they are fit for purpose.
  • That you are fit and available for work and presentable wearing NBC uniform.
Work Requirements:

Whilst you will be based at a specific RAF station, you may if the business requires be asked to work on other stations which may for short period’s mean time away from home.

Rotating shift patterns in line with the opening times of the station.  Monday to Friday generally however some airfields are 24 hour, and some are open 7 days a week.  Weekend or out of hours work may be required.

  • To pass various MOD security checks to acquire the necessary station clearances and security checks.
  • You must not suffer from colour blindness due to safety restrictions on the airfield, a full colour perception test must be conducted by an optician and the opticians certificate must be presented to the RAF for airside driving permits.
  • Possess a firearms AND shotgun certificate or have the ability acquire them.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing valuable support to help maintain an efficient and accurate finance function within NBC. This role will include running purchase ledger, providing cover for sales ledger, undertaking credit control activities and providing general ledger support.

Description:
The candidate must ideally have experience working with Excel, Sage 50 and Sage 200 Accounts, a confident all-round bookkeeper, and looking to work with minimal supervision and a close attention to detail, however full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Role, duties and responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing all purchase invoices, expense forms and request for payments
  • Purchase order processing, to include managing the purchase order system
  • Managing and processing of credit card expenses and petty cash transactions
  • Managing the aged creditor report and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Managing the vehicle movement spreadsheet
  • Assisting with the credit control function to include (low pressure) telephone calls, credit checking customers and approving accounts.

Essential Experience:

  • Accounts experience working with purchase ledger
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – to deal with customers and external contacts
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work to, and implement own processes
  • Experience working with Excel spreadsheets and data entry

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in carrying out credit control activities

Job Type: Full-time (9 to 5) but we would consider an individual looking for Part-time hours

Reporting to: Team Leaders/Operations Manager

To support the Regional Team Leaders nationally when required to ensure job work/ecology and bird control works are fulfilled when local resource is unavailable. Maintain contract portfolio in your own area when not supporting other Branches.
The job involves delivery of all aspects of Bird & Pest Control, wildlife management including, Bird proofing, Falconry, guano cleaning, vegetation clearance, tree works, soft landscaping, wildlife & agricultural fencing, habitat creation & ecological mitigation, working mobile in your own area and branches nationwide.

Objectives:

  • To help the management team achieve targeted levels of profit.
  • To maintain a minimum of 90% state of Service in your own area.
  • Achieve an average rpm for yourself of £350 rpm.
  • Pass a minimum of 4 leads per month on your own area.
  • Respond to email or telephone calls within 2 hours.
  • Maintain an effective team of hawks and falcon.
  • Ensure works are completed safely with Zero incidents in Region.

Duties:

  • Prepared to travel and stay away from home as and when required to support branches nationwide.
  • Monitor, report and discuss action with team leader all staff in region to ensure they are motivated, satisfied and carry out their duties in a manner we expect with NBC.
  • Complete your own scheduled works whilst supporting staff nationally.
  • Follow processes identified in staff manual including but not limited to registering in and off work using tablets, completing scheduled works on Geopal and clearing when complete.
  • Complete works safely and advise of any issues to Regional Team Leader.
  • Capable and competent in completing all forms of bird and pest control including, Bird proofing and falconry with the ability to house birds at home.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible with the Operations Manager to identify a shortage labour requirements within other branches and mobilise to help fulfil workloads. Ensure work is carried out safely and in a way that prevents our operations having an adverse effect on non-target wildlife.

  • Work closely alongside your regional survey to ensure ensure works sold are completed safely and within budget. Identify lead opportunities within your own are to grow the local portfolio.
  • Delivering Scheduled works safely, on time within your own area.
  • To ensure you are contactable to staff and respond to their queries quickly and with empathy.
  • Look after company equipment and vehicles and ensure when used they are fit for purpose.
  • Care for any birds of prey to NBC Welfare policy ensuring they have food, shelter and water and are not exposed to freezing conditions.

Work Requirements:
You will not be allocated to a Branch and be classed as mobile support Technician, you will be required to support all branches Nationwide. Initially the business will require you to work frequently outside your own area and be prepared to stay away from home when required.

Hours of work: 5 days per week, Monday to Friday generally however some weekend or out of hours work will be required.

Holiday: 20 days + public holidays. 10 days to be taken between 1st November and 28th February. Toil may be credited or debited.

Remuneration: £20,600.00 pa salary plus vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone.
£1,000 annual allowance paid monthly for using own birds (minimum of 2) and telemetry. Birds must be effective, in good feather and in flying/working condition.

You are a mobile technician; whilst you will be allocated to a branch and given an area, you may if the business requires be asked to work outside this area which may for short periods mean time away from home. This is neither frequent nor normal but preferred to lay off if the business changes.

Location – You will be required to cover the following areas; Crawley, Guilford, Redhill and the surrounding areas south of the M25.

Working hours – 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).  Some weekend or out of hours work may be required. TOIL may be available.

This is a great opportunity for a student or someone retired or simply someone looking to earn extra money. We require a falconer to fly falcons to deter scavenging birds from waste sites in Redhill and Beaconsfield. Although these sites can be muddy and the weather become tiring at times the job is an absolute joy and all the negatives are forgotten when you strike the hood and launch the falcon. A job for a true falconer and sportsman.

You:
An outdoor person with an interest in country pursuits and wildlife. You will be experienced in looking after, training and flying birds of prey; you are reliable and have a positive attitude, self-motivated and have a customer friendly manner.

You will have a full driving license and your own transport and whilst not essential, you will preferably have your own birds, telemetry and housing.

Those with their own birds and equipment will receive greater remuneration.

Job Description:

Using falconry, distress calls, blank guns shots, kites and other methods available, to prevent scavenging birds from feeding on a waste site and causing nuisance to the local neighbours and site staff.

Objectives:

  • Prevent no more than 20 scavenging birds access to site for 20 minutes
  • Keep the birds in good health and feather
  • Attend site at contracted times
  • To develop positive working relationship with client
  • Develop skills and knowledge to further develop

Duties:

  • Provide a high level of care to the birds in your possession
  • To fly the birds during the day in a manner which effectively scare and deters birds providing a minimum of 6 flights per day
  • To house and care for the birds outside the normal working day
  • Carry out regular patrols of the site
  • You use all supportive deterrents at your disposal to maintain a level of control should the weather not permit the flying of the falcons
  • Carry out daily reports and file in site file
  • Liaise with area manager to improve service where possible and advice of any situation that may prevent NBC from achieving the clients required service

 Hours of work:

You will typically work 9 hours a day 07.30am to 4.30pm.

  • Hold a valid CSCS card.
