Bed Bug Identification

How Can I Identify Bed Bugs?

A bed bug is a parasitic insect that feeds on any warm-blooded animal and human. Adult bed bugs are small, flat and reddish-brown in appearance and can grow up to 6mm. The wingless insects have strong legs to help them climb vertically and on rough surfaces.

particular bed bug family, Cimex Lectularius, usually feeds on the blood of humans and are most often found in residential properties. Bed bugs feed every two to three days, but they can survive up to one year without feeding!

Life cycle

Female bed bugs lay hundreds of eggs near the human host. The newly hatched bed bugs (nymphs) are very small in size making them difficult to detect. Nymphs can reach maturity in just one to two monthsdepending on the availability of food. Each time a nymph feeds it expands and moults shedding a layer skin and discarding their outer shells

If you notice empty skin and shells in your house, this is a sign of a growing bed bug problem! The only solution to break the life of cycle of the pests ito call upon a professional bed bug treatment service. Book online now to stop a bed bug infestation.
