Island Alien Invasive Species Eradication

Islands can be devastated by the effects of alien invasive species. NBC has extensive experience to assess the current issues and implement ways to deal with those.

Work will always commence with a feasibility study to establish the scope of works. The criteria for the feasibility studies to assess whether the eradication would be feasible include;

• Technically feasible
• Sustainable
• Socially acceptable
• Politically and legally acceptable
• Environmentally acceptable
• Capacity
• Affordable

Once this has been assessed and operations can commence a Programme and Project Delivery Plan is initialised with the key tasks, delivery programme and key milestones shown schematically along with reporting milestones. We look to implement methods of removal of invasive predator species along with biosecurity measures to prevent re-invasion.
