What’s it like?
As an NBC Mobile technician, you’ll be working within your area to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, bird/wildlife/staff welfare and profit. The job is hugely varied and can involve bird and pest control, bird proofing, falconry and ecology work. No two days or locations are the same.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in the outdoors and either experienced in bird/pest control or looking for a career change. For us, its personality and dedication that matters more; we can provide full training as necessary.
We’ll provide you with uniform and PPE, a van, mobile phone and tablet, allowing you to keep track of all your allocated jobs and relay information back to HQ. If you’re new to falconry, we can help you get started with the equipment you’ll need. For those with their own birds of prey, you will not be required to use them, but an allowance can be paid to those who do.
Training begins at our Head Office in Norfolk, where you’ll be introduced to the team, our IT systems and given intensive training by our Head of Falconry. You’ll then go out on the road with one of our experienced technicians, before starting in your own area. You’re never be completely alone though, there is always backup from the team at head office, other technicians and your area manager.
So what do we ask from you?
To our customers you are the face of NBC and we need you to maintain our high quality service. You’ll work with management to ensure your daily activities are efficient and achieve the set targets. It goes without saying that we’ll expect you to work within Health and Safety and BPCA guidelines.
We’ll also need to you keep connected with us, updating your work on our Geopal system, advising any problems and responding to calls, texts and emails within 2 hours.
In addition, you’re our eyes and ears out in the field and we ask that you be on the lookout for new opportunities and relay these onto the sales team. You’ll be rewarded if these turn into actual jobs for us. We also love to hear staff suggestions and ideas on how our business can be better.
At NBC, our working birds are a key part of the team and you’ll be responsible for housing them and keeping in good health and feather. When you’re carrying out falconry work, we will expect the birds to be flown in a manner that effectively scares and deters nuisance birds.
Whilst you’ll be allocated to a branch and given an area, we may ask you to work outside of this area for short periods to cover absences or additional work. This is not a regular occurrence and we will always give notice where possible.
